About the CEO, MAI PASSION CAKES AND EVENTS
Oluwafunbi is fondly called by many as MAI PASSION, a name she is so passionate about.
She has her M.A and B.A in Theatre Arts from the prestigious premier University in Nigeria, University of Ibadan in 2014 and 2006 respectively.
Upon leaving school, she joined her father in running his photography business and operated as the Operations Manager for nine years, attempted securing a Federal Agency appointment which she was denied but later returned to her father’s company.
In all those years, she enjoyed catering for pleasure. Being impactful in the society is more of an hobby for her and she does it with great passion.
She experienced being a victim of failed businesses and relationship in the past but her resilience in becoming successful and having great impact in the society kept her pushing forward
In 2017, she was honoured by the UNITED NATIONS as a UN-EMPOWER WOMEN 2016-2017 GLOBAL CHAMPION FOR CHANGE for Women Economic Empowerment.
For many years, she spent her savings impacting the youth and women in the society through her pet foundation @ HOPEL-GOODNESS FOUNDATION( Helping Others and Providing Empowerment for Life Goodness) and she became financially stranded and frustrated.
This made her to think twice and she decided to turn her passion of baking and empowering people to profit.
So, in September 2017, she started MAI PASSION CAKES AND EVENTS with the main motive to make profit and use part of the profit to promote an inclusive economic growth in the society.
Since then, she has trained over twenty five people, given about fifteen people employment and anchored many entrepreneurship programs.
She features on a National Radio (Radio Nigeria) Entrepreneurship program where she teaches and motivates aspiring entrepreneurs and start ups on starting a business and becoming self reliance.
She is a social entrepreneur, a pastry chef, writer, pastry tutor and start up coach
